Product No.

  • Base protection board: 060/00
  • Joint tape: 060/10
  • Base protection board: 800 mm x 620 mm x 10 mm
  • Joint tape: 50 m roll, width 120 mm
General Info/ Preparation:

The Capatect-Sockelschutzplatte (base protection board ) must be fully embedded into adhesive mortar onto the insulation boards. Only apply on offset-free substrates.

Install insulation boards with correspondingly reduced thickness in the plinth area. Place the base protection boards butt-joined - labelling face outwards.

If necessary cut the boards using a circular saw, a jigsaw or a hand-held circular saw. Install the base protection board max. 10 cm below ground level (ground contact area).

The area below ground level must be provided with additional moisture protection of the board and the plaster up to at least 5 cm above ground level.

Consumption

  • Base protection board:       2 boards per m2
  • Joint tape:                          2.85 m per m2

Application Conditions

Processing temperature:
+ 5 °C to + 30 °C during application and curing for material, atmosphere and substrate.

Installation

Base protection board installation:
Install the base protection board on the appropriate insulation boards with Capatect Klebe- und Armierungsmasse 186M or Capatect Klebe- und Spachtelmasse 190 butt-joined with full-surface bonding using the floating-buttering method with a notched trowel (10 mm teeth).

With the one-sided floating-buttering method, an adhesive thickness up to approx. 4 mm, in the double floating-buttering method up to approx. 6 mm is possible.

Mechanical fixing (mandatory):
Mandatory fixing is done using Capatect Universaldübel 053. To guarantee a flush installation of the anchor plate, the boards have to be drilled with the Capatect Fräsaufsatz 607/50 (milling adapter).
On polystyrene insulation board a minimum of 4 anchors, on mineral wool/lamellar insulation board a minimum of 5 anchors have to be set, see installation manual. For elastified polystyrene boards a maximum board thickness of 200mm is permitted.

Joint bridging:
Joints between the base protection boards must be bridged using the self-adhesive joint tape Capatect-Gewebeband 060/10 before application of the reinforcement layer. The substrate must be dry and free from all materials that may prevent good adhesion. A double reinforcement of Capatect Gewebe 650 (reinforcing fabric) is used to stabilize the transition from base protection boards to the upgoing insulation boards. Minimum thickness in this area is 3 mm for organic or mineral reinforcing layers.

Installing instructions:

1. Install the base protection boards staggerd and butt-joined on the offset-free substrate - labeling face outwards. Differences in thickness between facade and plinth area must be compensated in the adhesive layer.

2.Drilling of anchor holes with the Capatect Fräsaufsatz 607/50 (milling adapter) for a flush installation of the anchor plate. Fix anchors "Capatect Universaldübel 053" before drying and curing of the adhesive mortar.
Number of anchors:
EPS:               4 per board =   8 per m2
Mineral wool:  5 per board = 10 per m2

3. Bridging the joints centered prior to reinforcing with self-adhesive joint tape Capatect-Gewebeband 060/10. Double reinforcement with Capatect Gewebe 650 (width ≥ 20 cm) for transition from base protection boards to the upgoing insulation boards.
