Suitable Substrates
Mineral substrates, existing plasters or paints coatings. Can be used for mounting thermal insulating boards on old coatings with insufficient adhesion to the substrate.
Substrate Preparation
Wall substrates must offer a sufficient essential stability (strength), for rail mounting.
Remove overlap of mortar burrs. Local separations in plasters: Knock off and replaster flush with the surface. Unevenness up to 3 cm may be compensated using mounting spacers Capatect-Distanzstücke 634.
Application
As base rail Capatect Sockelschiene (according to the thickness of the insulation board) is mounted in base level. Apply adhevive mortar to the reverse of Insulation boards for the first row (as much as needed to close the gap behind the base rail. Place this boards into the base rail. The vertical joints of the insulation boards are to connect with one Capatect connector for each joint.
After having applied the first row, place the Capateot Mounting Rail into the horizontal grooves and fix it every 30 cm with approved screw dowels (Capateot-Universal-Montage-Schraubdübel or hammer-in dowels (Capatect-Universal-Montage-Schlagdübel). Adapt type of dowel to the substrate condition. See separate information.
The next row of thermal insulating boards may be applied correspondingly, staggered 50% (offsett/bond), from bottom to top, press-fitted and fastened with connecting units and mounting rails
Care should be taken to provide for absolutely horizontally and vertically fastening.
Do not distort the profiled rails. Compensate unevenness In the substrate using mounting spacers Capatect-Distanzstücke 634, if necessary.
Respect a space of approx. 2 to 3 cm between the rails.
Board joints must be carried out absolutely tight and precise.
Groove cuts and adapter pieces (for example under window sill or roof overhang) with the special tool "Nutenhobel" for fixing with mounting rail even vertically. For adaptation work, such as around window and door reveals and corners, fix the boards conventionally in case of need.
