Substrate Preparation

Ensure that the insulation boards are laid flat and that the edges are glued correctly.

The anchor length must be determined depending on the anchoring base, if necessary take any non-load-bearing layers and the system thickness into account.

Installation

The anchors should be installed only after sufficient solidification of the adhesive bed (approx. 1 day). The anchors length must be selected in such a way that the anchoring depth of at least 30 mm (aerated concrete at least 50 mm) in the solid wall material is given (without taking into account any old render layers or other non-load-bearing intermediate layers). Use a drilling machine (for vertically perforated bricks, sand-lime bricks and aerated concrete without percussion and hammering action) to drill the anchor holes Ø 8 mm, at right angles into the load-bearing structural member. Always drill about 10 mm deeper than the required anchoring depth. Before inserting the anchor, remove drill dust from the drill hole to ensure the required anchoring depth.

Surface flush mounting:
Drill a hole through the insulation material into the load-bearing substrate. Drill hole depth for substrates of category A-E min. 40 mm at 30 mm anchoring depth. In substrate category E, drill hole depth min. 60 mm at 50 mm anchoring depth.

Combine anchors and anchor plates depending on the type of insulation material. Insert the screw acnhor into the drill hole and screw in the corresponding bit or tool so that it is flush with the surface. The anchor plate must lie flush with the surface after the setting process.

Anchor length determination:
La > hnom+ ttol+ hD
La = Anchor length
hnom = necessary anchoring depth
ttol = Tolerance compensation (thickness of adhesive layer) and, if necessary, non-bearing
Building component layers
hD = Insulation thickness

The tolerance compensation adds up from:
+ Thickness of non-load-bearing layers (thicknesses of old render, Mineral bonded wood wool boards, saving facing bricks, etc.). if present, often the thickness of old plaster is approx. 20 mm).
+ Thickness of the adhesive layer after pressing the insulation boards to the wall.
(as a rule, about 10 mm)
+ Additional compensation of facade unevenness
+ If necessary, the thickness of the base coat when fastening through the fabric.
