Suitable Substrates

Dry and sound/stable reinforcement layers, concrete, solid mineral plaster.

Substrate Preparation

The substrates must be even (planar), clean, dry, sound/solid, dimensionally stable, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.
Allow new render/plaster to cure for min. 2 - 4 weeks. When used within the Capatect ETICS or ventilated cladding systems, the reinforcement layer must be fully set and dry.

Method of Application

Apply Capatect-Feinspachtel 195 manually and evenly in a layer thickness of approx. 2 - 3 mm.
Felt or smoothen the surface during the solidification process with a felt or sponge float.

Consumption

Approx. 2.0 kg/m2 per mm thickness.
Reference value without account of spilling, loss or individual conditions on site. The exact rate of consumption is best established by a trial application.

Application Conditions

Processing Temperature: Min. 5 °C, max. 30 °C for product, ambient air, and substrate during application and drying.

Drying/Drying Time

Surface-dry after 24 hours  (+20 °C, 65 % RH). Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time. Prevent from fast drying during hot weather. If necessary wet the surface. The plaster dries by hydration and by evaporation of water.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water.

Material Preparation

Capatect-Feinspachtel can be mixed with all common types of flow mixers, spiral pumps and plaster machines.
For manual preparation pour the required amount of cold tap (potable) water into a mortar bucket. Add the the premix slowly and stir  thoroughly with a suitable low-speed electric paddle until the mixture is free of lumps. Allow to swell for 5 minutes and stir again. If necessary, adjust to working consistency by adding a small amount of tap water. Water consumption: approx. 5 - 6 l per 25 kg bag.
Pot life is approx. 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on weather conditions. For machine use, the maximum lifetime in the hose is 60 minutes. Already hardened (slightly stiff) material cannot be used and must not be made pliable by adding water.

Coating

Recoatable after approx. 2 weeks (+20 °C, 65 % RH) . Adverse weather conditions, lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.
Recoatable after approx. 7 days with Capatect-SI-Fassadenfinish 130 by additional priming with CapaGrund Universal to minimize the risk of efflorescence.

Example for Machine Equipment

Flow mixer Berö Calypso 15 with standard equipment and Berö Speedy 15 with screw-conveyor 1/1 output.
Strictly follow manufacturer's instructions.
Rinse hoses prior to regular application with lime slurry or lime paste.
Electric Supply: 400 V three phase current/ 16 A (earth-leakage circuit breaker ELCB)
Water Supply: 3/4" hose with GEKA-connector, minimum 2.5 bar water pressure for the running machine
Water Flow: Approx. 320 l/h, adjust the desired mortar consistency by the fine-regulating valve in the water fitting of the mixer.
Conveying Hose: Primary hose, interior ø 35 mm, 13.3 m each. End hose, interior Ø 25 mm, 10.0 m
Conveying Distance: Maximum pumping distance 50 m (to optimise object- and temperature related)
Sprayer: Berö Integra Kombi, ø 8 mm nozzle
Compressor: V-Meko 400

Apply 2 finishing coats of ThermoSan, when a higher protection against algal and fungal attack is required.
Note: As a result of superficial binder enrichment (sintered layer) felted or smoothed surfaces can show fine shrinkage cracks. They can not be ruled out entirely. However, these are not objectionable defects.
Protect with tarpaulin to avoid exposure to rain during drying.

Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)

This mineral powdery material has an alkaline reaction. Only to be used by trained operatives. Irritant to skin. Risk of serious damage to eyes. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with eyes or skin. On contact with eyes, wash immediately and completely with plenty of (clean) water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable protective gloves and eye/face protection. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container (packaging) or label

Disposal

Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures. In Germany/EC: Only completely emptied packaging (bags) should be recycled. Dispose hardened material as mixed building and demolition waste. European Waste Code (EWC) 170904
