    Suitable Substrates

Thoroughly primed, dimensionally stable wooden parts (construction elements). Primed metal and other dimensionally stable surfaces of building materials. The substrate must always be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.
Maximum permissible wood moisture content (WMC): 12 %.

    Substrate Preparation

    New Wooden Parts (Construction Elements):
Sand/grind the surface of wood in fibre direction, clean thoroughly and remove seeping wood contents, e.g. resin/rosin and resin galls/pitch pockets, cut sharp edges.
Germany: See BFS-Merkblatt (Data Sheet) No. 18.

    Iron, Steel:
Derust to industry standard SA 2 2½ (blasting) or ST3 (mechanically) according to DIN EN ISO 12944-4.

    Zinc/Galvanised Surfaces:
Clean with abrasive non-woven web and Multistar, 1 : 5 diluted with tap (potable) water or wash with light ammonia solution using sanding pad as per German BFS Data Sheet No. 5.

    Aluminium, Copper:
Clean with abrasive non-woven web and Multistar, 1 : 5 diluted with tap (potable) water.
Follow German BFS Data Sheet No. 6.

    Existing Paint Coatings:

Sand the surface of existing non-thermoplastic coats slightly and/or treat with alkali. Carefully remove all non-adherent/unstable coatings.

    Application:
Capacryl Effektlack is applicable with Airless, Aircoat/Airmix and Low Pressure Systems.
The above given specifications may vary, depending on the manufacturer and type of equipment.
Spray large, seamless surfaces wet-on-wet or spray surfaces in several smaller operation segments and border them (if necessary).

    Note:

Spraying of effect enamels on large, seamless surfaces without any visible lapping is generally a challenge for craftsmanship.
Particularly on facades, for multiple structural scaffolding levels and with unsettled climatic conditions, it is only
possible at rare intervals to achieve an absolutely perfect surface without any visible clouding effect and lapping.
These product and field condition typical irregularities must be accepted. Thus, it is advisable to notify the circumstances to the customer and to stipulate a trial coating on site.
